12 Sep Operation Christmas Child
During the month of October, our Children’s Ministry will be collecting shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. Our goal is to collect at least 100 boxes, but we’ll need your help.
Never heard of Operation Christmas Child? Just head over to the Operation Christmas Child website for more information about how this ministry impacts millions of children around the world each year.
Ready to start? Here’s what you need to know.
Step 1: Find a shoebox. We will have shoeboxes available in our upstairs lobby starting October 2. You can also use any shoebox sized box that you may already have.
Step 2: Decide which gender and age you will be shopping for. There are three age divisions: 2-4 year olds, 5-9 year olds, and 10-14 year olds.
Step 3: Pack your shoebox. Select one quality “wow” toy such as a doll, soccer ball with pump, or stuffed animal. Then add other fun toys, hygiene items, and school supplies. Operation Christmas Child has been nice enough to put together a page to help you pick items for your box.
Step 4: Pray. Operation Christmas Child will present the gospel to each child who receives a gift. I would encourage you to view some of these videos to see firsthand the impact a shoebox can have.
Step 5: Donate $7 online and receive a tracking label to Follow Your Box and discover the destination of your shoebox gift.
Step 6: Drop off your shoebox at church. You can drop your box off at the preschool welcome desk until October 30.
