“Missions is not the ultimate goal of the church. Worship is. Missions exists because worship doesn’t. Worship is ultimate, not missions, because God is ultimate, not man. When this age is over, and the countless millions of the redeemed fall on their faces before the throne of God, missions will be no more. It is a temporary necessity. But worship abides forever. Worship, therefore, is the fuel and goal of missions.” John Piper

At Central, we are on mission with Christ in reaching the nations for the glory of God. The ultimate desire of our church is to send every member across the street and/or around the world with the gospel. So many churches want to be known by how many they run, we desire to glorify God by how many we send out in either Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria or the uttermost parts of the earth. (Acts 1:8)

Local Evangelism

Our belief is that the “light that shines the furthest, shines the brightest at home.”

Each year we designate four strategic times to have a cooperative church wide effort to reach and engage Sanford and the surrounding area with the gospel. These include: Christmas, Easter, Vacation Bible School Outreach and Love Loud (October). Each of these outreaches are meant to intentionally reach our community through servant evangelism.

Throughout the year we provide evangelism training seminars. We do use various types of trainings such as: The Story, EvanTell, and Way of the Master. Often the seminars are a hybrid of all methods. We encourage daily evangelism.

International Missions and Church Planting

In September 2012, we planted Op Weg Community in Gent, Belgium. Our strategy is to aid the plant in discipleship, encouragement, prayer support, evangelism and equipping. The overall goal is to plant a network of churches in the area.

In November 2012,  in conjunction with Beautiful Feet International, we established a Crisis Pregnancy Center in a small village outside of Jaco Beach, Costa Rica. We are currently partnering with local churches in Jaco to reach the area for Christ.

In October 2014, we began a partnership with Victory Bible College and Seminary, and Victory Baptist Orphanage in Bangalore, India.

In August 2015, we sent out Cody and Beka Burns from our church who are currently in school training to be Missionary Pilots through New Tribes Missions.

Short-Term Missions

We also promote and provide various Short Term Mission trips utilizing Beautiful Feet International, IMB and other agencies to send people on mission. We have gone to countries such as: Kenya, Dominican Republic, India, China, Spain, Haiti, Slovakia, Mexico, Belgium, Costa Rica and others.  We are also engaged in national missions through World Changers and other Southern Baptist entities.

Missions Giving

We give through the Great Commission Giving of the Southern Baptist Convention.  Throughout the year, we participate in Mission’s offerings such as: Lottie Moon, Annie Armstrong and Faith Promise.
