Central Baptist offers many opportunities for adults to get involved.

A great way for you to start getting involved at Central is to join a small group or class.  Below is a list of groups and classes that meet on a regular basis.  These groups are a way for you to connect with people that are going through the same struggles in life, the same age, or that have the same interests.
Sunday Morning Groups

Our Sunday morning small groups meet at 9:30 am and 11:00 am on Sunday mornings during our worship services.  Small groups are offered for all ages and stages of life.  These groups offer a place for you to build relationships with others and grow spiritually through Bible study.

Adult Co-Ed

(18+) – College and Young Singles – John and Karen Haslam – Room 201
This small group is using the series “Explore the Bible”. It is a book-by-book Bible study that takes participants deep into the context of God’s Word and challenges them to live it out in their own context. These studies will help participants grow in their love for Scripture, gain new knowledge about what the Bible teaches, develop biblical disciplines, and internalize the Word in a way that transforms their lives.

(30+) – Matt Nixon – Room 258
This young adult small group is using the series “Explore the Bible”. It is a book-by-book Bible study that takes participants deep into the context of God’s Word and challenges them to live it out in their own context. These studies will help participants grow in their love for Scripture, gain new knowledge about what the Bible teaches, develop biblical disciplines, and internalize the Word in a way that transforms their lives.

(35+) – Eddie Clay – Room 225
This small group is using the series “Explore the Bible”. It is a book-by-book Bible study that takes participants deep into the context of God’s Word and challenges them to live it out in their own context. These studies will help participants grow in their love for Scripture, gain new knowledge about what the Bible teaches, develop biblical disciplines, and internalize the Word in a way that transforms their lives.

This small group is using the series “Explore the Bible”. It is a book-by-book Bible study that takes participants deep into the context of God’s Word and challenges them to live it out in their own context. These studies will help participants grow in their love for Scripture, gain new knowledge about what the Bible teaches, develop biblical disciplines, and internalize the Word in a way that transforms their lives.

(65+) – Doug Atkinson – Chapel
This small group is working through the Bible book of Revelation. It is an in depth study going verse-by-verse, learning the meaning of vision John received while on the Island of Patmos.

Ladies

(25+) – Marybeth Kritsky – Room 257
This ladies Sunday small group class uses series that help women live by God’s grace, and choose a better, more redemptive path in serving Jesus Christ. They study various Biblical topics designed for women.

(60+) – Mary Garland – Room 181
This ladies small group is studying through the series entitled “The Gospel Project”. This study takes adults on a chronological, Christ-centered journey through the storyline of Scripture. Participants will encounter God’s plan of redemption in Scripture through study of Bible narrative, the essential doctrines of the faith, and the call to join in God’s mission locally and globally.

This adult small group is using the series titled “Explore the Bible”. It is a book-by-book Bible study that takes participants deep into the context of God’s Word and challenges them to live it out in their own context. These studies will help participants grow in their love for Scripture, gain new knowledge about what the Bible teaches, develop biblical disciplines, and internalize the Word in a way that transforms their lives.

Ladies

(25+) – Joyce Rose – Room 257
This ladies small group Bible study is designed for individuals who prefer deeper spiritual insight and daily personal study. These interactive studies are based on works of respected Christian authors and leaders in a challenging Bible study format. They are using the “Masterwork” series.

(60+) – Jan Schake – Room 181
This adult small group is using the series titled “Explore the Bible”. It is a book-by-book Bible study that takes participants deep into the context of God’s Word and challenges them to live it out in their own context. These studies will help participants grow in their love for Scripture, gain new knowledge about what the Bible teaches, develop biblical disciplines, and internalize the Word in a way that transforms their lives.

Sunday Night Groups meet at 5:00 pm and provide an additional opportunity for people to meet for bible study and fellowship.

Financial Peace – Rich Genslinger – Room 206
Financial Peace University presents biblical, practical steps to get from where you are to where you’ve dreamed you could be. This nine-week class begins September 11. For more details, scroll down to the Financial Peace Section.

Masterwork – Mike Korgan – Room 258
Masterwork seeks to identify key biblically based messages that have come out of the heart of God’s servants. These renowned Christian authors draw learners to a deeper level of involvement through daily personal study, weekly group interaction, and key life messages.

Nav 2:7 – A Discipleship Course
A course in personal discipleship to strengthen your walk with God. This course consists of three eleven-week book studies to help you to spend time with God, memorize Bible verses, and discuss Bible studies related to Christian character. Cost is $15 per book. (Start Sep. 11)

Essential Truths – Led by Jan Schake – Room 110
This small group focuses on the new believer in Christ. Essential questions on salvation and other important doctrinal concerns are addressed.

Men’s Bible Study – Led by Larry Patterson – Room 148
This small group for men challenges you to dig deeper into God’s Word each week and discover application for life. This is a verse-by-verse study pulling fresh insight from a New Testament book. Focus is on 1 Corinthians.

Women’s Bible Study – Led by Kathy Patterson – Room 225
“Gideon – Your Weakness. God’s Strength”: This small group for ladies will focus on the Priscilla Shirer study on the book of Gideon. “Instead of hiding from your weakness, find the God-given strength to face your fears and do what God is calling you to do.”

Church History – Led by Dave Farr and Robert Thomas – Room 256
A History of the Christian Church from Pentecost to Sanford, FL. This study will introduce you to the major events in the development of the Christian Church from the Roman persecution to Christianity in the New World, and the beginning of the Sanford Church.

Worship Choir Rehearsal – Led by Rick Grabowski – Choir Room
If you have a passion for worship choir and a desire to help lead the church in praise, come join the Central Worship Choir. There is no audition necessary; just a heart for praise and a commitment to life a lifestyle of worship. Childcare is available for all rehearsals.

Everyday Life – Theology 101 – Led by Alan Brumback – Room 206
This small group will explore the great doctrines of the Bible and apply them to everyday life. We will be studying questions like: Who is God? How can we trust the Bible? What is the role of the Holy Spirit in the life of a believer? Why did Jesus have to die? And so much more. This group is open for all.

Your Time-Starved Marriage – Led by Charles Wise – Room 258
Activities with the kids, busy work schedule, caring for adult parents, or just struggling to find any extra time in your life. Your marriage relationship could be “time starved”. Come learn ways to find that “needed time” to build your marriage and strengthen it as never before.

This nine-week class teaches God’s ways of handling money.  Through video teaching, class discussions and interactive small group activities, FPU presents biblical, practical steps to get from where you are to where you’ve dreamed you could be.  This plan will show you how to get rid of debt, manage your money, spend and save wisely, and much more!  Cost for the study guide and materials is $89.
