Our Awana Clubs

Puggles® recognizes the learning ability of 2- and 3-year olds by introducing biblical precepts at church and equipping parents to teach them at home. Toddlers love having their very own Awana club just like their older siblings.

Cubbies® celebrates the spiritual potential of preschoolers (3- to 5-year olds) by helping them develop respect for God, His Son and His Word.

Sparks® (K-2nd grade) ignites the curiosity of early elementary-age kids to learn about the people and events of the Bible, building a foundation of wisdom for knowing Christ.

T&T engages third- through sixth-graders by answering their questions about God and the Bible, guiding them through this pivotal life stage to grow in Christ’s grace

About Us

Welcome to the Children’s Ministry of Central Baptist Church. Our mission is to create a fun, safe, and Christ-centered environment so that children can become authentic fruit-bearing disciples of Jesus Christ.

We seek to encourage and build on 5 key elements of spiritual formation:

  • Spiritual leadership from the parents.
  • Weekly involvement in a healthy church.
  • Age-appropriate biblical teaching.
  • Fun and creative learning experiences.
  • Loving relationships with other Christians.

We take safety very seriously. All of our volunteers have been screened, which includes references, a background check, and safety training. Our classrooms are also under 24-hour video surveillance.

About Small Groups

We offer small groups for children of all ages on Sundays at 9:30 and 11:00 am. Our teachers are dedicated to teaching God’s Word in a way that is age-appropriate, creative, and relevant to kids. We are currently teaching through the Bible chronologically over a three year period using The Gospel Project curriculum.

Preschoolers are invited to attend a small group during both services. However, we encourage children in Kindergarten and above to attend a small group as well as a worship service.

Parent Resources

Parent Resources

Our Philosophy

As a children’s ministry, we believe we play an important role in the spiritual development of children. However, the primary responsibility and most important role belongs to the parent. Therefore, our goal is to provide support to parents by providing consistent biblical teaching, loving relationships, and a fun environment that will keep children engaged. We only have your children a few hours each week at the most. Therefore, it is vitally important that parents carry the majority of the weight of biblical instruction and loving discipline on a day to day basis. We hope that the following resources will help you lead your children spiritually.

Kids Camp

Kids Camp

About Kids Camp

Kids Camp is a week-long high-energy event for kids. Kids will make friends, have fun, and develop faith as they participate in games, worship, and tracks each day.

Tracks

Each day of Kids Camp, kids have the opportunity to participate in two tracks. Tracks are 60 minute classes where children learn a specific skill from an experienced adult. When your child registers for Kids Camp, he or she will select their top track preferences. We will assign children to tracks based on the amount of openings available.

Waitlist

Because of the popularity of Kids Camp, space is limited. If Kids Camp is full, we will place you on our waitlist. We will contact you after the first day of Kids Camp is space becomes available.

Without a doubt, childhood is the most strategic time to reach a person for Christ. The ages of 4 to 14 have been called the “Golden Age” of evangelism because the majority of people who trust in Christ, do so by the age of 14. Unfortunately, as a child approaches adulthood, their willingness to receive Christ grows smaller and smaller.

That is why we believe it is so important for parents and church members to invest in the children’s ministry of Central Baptist Church. From the time each child is born, we must begin pointing them to Christ. That happens when we pray for each child who sleeps in our arms. It happens when we make learning fun for our preschoolers. It happens when we challenge elementary students to live out biblical truth in their everyday lives.

If you are ready to be a part of reaching our children, then we invite you to begin the application process today.

Who are we looking for?
x

  • A growing Christian.
  • Actively involved at Central.
  • Ready to learn.
  • Loves kids.
  • Willing to give of their time, talents, and treasure.

The Approval Process

We take the safety of children very seriously. We have implemented a screening policy that ensures our volunteers are properly screened prior to serving in our children’s ministry. The screening process includes:

  • A written application
  • 2-3 personal references
  • Background check
  • Online safety training
  • Interview with a ministry leader

    x

Personal References

We suggest gathering 2-3 references before starting the online application.

References for adults may not include a pastor on staff at Central Baptist Church. You may only use an immediate family member (spouse/sibling/parent) as your third reference.

Minors under the age of 18 must use a parent and a student pastor as their personal references.

Please contact your references and ensure you have their most current contact information. Incomplete or incorrect information can slow up the process significantly.
